A more common refrain being echoed by families of seniors is that a person they love and care for is living with memory loss that is having a profound effect on their ability to live safely at home and on their ability to perform daily living tasks. Seniors living with dementia and their caregivers admit to struggling to maintain even a modest quality of life. Upon reflection by a loved one or trusted friend, there is a realization that these seniors need enhanced support and specialized services to address memory impairment, while the caregivers need to revitalize their own lives so that the time they spend with their afflicted loved one is of high quality.

Egis Memory Care offers high quality memory support and innovative solutions for residents with dementia. Egis is a term which means “the protector”, and our mission within the Egis neighborhood is to give seniors with memory loss the protection they need while our staff guides each resident to achieve a high quality of life at whatever stage of dementia they may be experiencing. Memory support assisted living at all Everbrook communities offer the same or similar services as are provided to residents receiving assisted services in the community at large, except that residents are provided enhanced supervision and memory support while performing daily living for themselves.

The Egis neighborhood is a secured area accessed only through controlled doors. Residents are offered a studio apartment with private bath, separate common area activity, and dining space, and secured outdoor recreational spaces. The caregivers of residents who come to live with us can enroll in our caregivers’ support group and are invited to continue to play a key role in the care of their mom or dad.
